German American cotton merchant who settled in Galveston after the Civil War and formed a partnership with Henry Wilkins. Confederate Texas Treasury Warrants and script, receipts and stock certificates, passport, Garden Verein certificate, incorporation notice, promissory note, business cards, news clippings and announcements and notices of Relief Committee following the 1900 hurricane.
